The Railway Touring Company operated 'The Royal Duchy' charter on Sunday 31st July 2022. No. 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' and No.47772 operated 1Z34 08:12 Bristol Temple Meads in 'top and tail' formation with No.47772 providing power from the rear. Shortly after departing from Taunton Station the LMS Pacific is pictured passing Silk Mills.

West Coast Railways Class 47 No.47772 passes Silk Mills on the 23rd July 2022 returning the 'West Somerset Steam Express charter towards London. No.47772 and No.47813 operated in top and tail formation as 1Z51 16:26 Minehead - London Paddington.

Looking resplendent in their GBRf liveries Class 50s No. 50007 'Hercules' and No. 50049 'Defiance' double head through Silk Mills at speed after passing through Taunton non-stop on the 26th March 2022. The pair were operating UK Railtours 'Springtime Hoovering in Devon' charter 1Z50 07:35 London Paddington - Paignton. The tour later visited Okehampton before returning to London.

Colas Rail Freight Class 70 locomotives 'top and tailed' a lengthy loaded rake of loaded Autoballasters on the 9th January 2022. No.70809 and No.70817 pass Silk Mills operating as 6C21 09:39 Westbury - Newton Abbot West Junction. The train was taking ballast to the Paignton branch which is closed for various infrastructure renewals.

LMS Jubilee No. 45690 'Leander' passes Silk Mills on the 12th September 2021 operating 1Z12 08:46 Slough - Par 'The Royal Duchy' charter. The locomotive was added at Taunton, taking over from West Coast Railways Class 47 No. 47746 'Chris Fudge 29.7.70 - 22.6.10'.

LMS Jubilee No. 45690 'Leander' powers away from Taunton with The Railway Touring Company charter 'The Royal Duchy' having joined the train at Taunton. The 1Z22 08:46 Slough - Plymouth was hauled to Taunton by West Coast Railways Class 47 No.47772 where the steam leg of the trip started. The tour is pictured approaching Silk Mills on Sunday 29th August 2021.

GWR IET No.802015 passes LNER A1 Peppercorn No. 60163 'Tornado' at Silk Mills while operating 1A81 10:36 Paignton - London Paddington on the 11th July 2021. Tornado had been unable to joint its charter train due to a points failure in Fairwater Yard, which resulted on the tour departing Taunton 103 minutes late.

A1 Peppercorn No. 60163 'Tornado' departs from a gloomy Taunton on the 11th July 2021 operating the late running 1Z31 08:46 Slough - Par. The Railway Touring Company charter had been delayed at Fairwater Yard by 102 minutes owing to a points failure which was outside their control.

After taking its booked servicing stop at Taunton Station the charter is pictured getting underway again at Silk Mills as it heads for Devon.
