Two of the oldest Class 37s still operating on the UK Rail Network fronted Pathfinder Tours 'The Yorkshire Explorer' charter on Saturday 8th June 2019. Having arrived with the Empty Coaching Stock from Eastleigh overnight, No.37059 and No.37038 stand at Taunton ready to depart with the 1Z72 05:25 Taunton - Leeds charter which also called at York, Knaresborough, and Harrogate.

Direct Rail Services Class 57/3 No.57303 (On Hire to Rail Operations Group) passes Marlands on the 29th May 2019 operating the 5L46 09:35 Laira - Ely Papworth Sidings conveying one of the final rakes of Mk3 HST stock going for storage and onward use. The train conveyed: 41138 42556 42505 42284 42213 40707 Barrier 6330.

DRS Class 37s No.37407 and No.37059 power into Devon exiting from Whiteball Tunnel on the 25th May 2019 hauling Retro Railtours 'The Retro Devon Seasider' charter. The 1Z44 05:50 Huddersfield - Paignton spent the afternoon in at the Riviera resort before returning north later in the day.

Large Logo liveried Class 37/4 No.37407 and DRS Class 37/0 No.37059 storm south at Bradford on Tone on Saturday 25th May 2019. The pair were operating Retro Raiultours 'The Retro Devon Seasider' charter. The pair of classic British Rail Diesels power the 1Z44 05:50 Huddersfield - Paignton charter west through the Somerset countryside.

A pair of Direct Rail Services veteran Class 37s provided passengers with some English Electric noise throughout the journey. Large Loco Class 37 No.37407 and No. 37059 pass non-stop through Platform 2 at Taunton running as 1Z44 05:50 Huddersfield to Paignton charter.

BR Large Logo liveried (DRS Operated) Class 37/4 No. 37409 'Lord Hinton' passed Taunton on the 15th May 2019 working a Network Rail Inspection Saloon. The 5Z02 11:15 Derby RTC - Exeter St Davids is pictured passing Banklands on the approach to Durston.

Direct Rail Services Class 88 No. 88003 'Genesis' makes history with Class 68 No.68034 on the 13th April 2019 to become the first member of its Class to visit Penzance. The 1Z60 04:45 Tame Bridge Parkway - Penzance charter was run by Pathfinder Railtours to visit the GWR Long Rock Depot open day at Penzance.

In early morning Spring sunlight a new Class of locomotive to pass through Taunton visited on the 13th April 2019. Direct Rail Services Class 88s operate on both Overhead and Diesel power so are not normally found in Somerset. Pathfinder Railtours operated 'The Spring Time Cornishman' which used No. 88003 'Genesis' and No.68034. The 1Z60 04:45 Tame Bridge Parkway - Penzance is pictured passing Creech St Michael.

English Electric traction returned to the South West in fine style on Saturday 22nd September 2018 when a pair of Direct Rail Services Class 37 locomotives were provided to front Pathfinder Tours 'The Marches Cornishman'. No.37602 and No.37606 hauled the 1Z50 04:50 Shrewsbury - Penzance charter formed of BR Blue/ Grey Mk2 stock. The tour passed Taunton just before 09:00 with the southbound leg of the tour. Having carried out a snow plough test for Network Rail the previous day the pair of Direct Rail Services Class 37s stabled in the sidings behind Platform 1 at Taunton. No.37218 and No.37259 are pictured during the early morning sunlight on the 10th May 2018 before departing from Taunton later in the day to return to Crewe. The latest reincarnation of DRS livery seen on No.37218 really suits the class. comported to the older generation livery carried by No.37259
