27th February 2015
DCR Class 31/6 No.31601 was back in Taunton on the 27th of February 2015 having collected former Virgin Trains Mk2 Coach 5989 from The Dartmoor Railway at Meldon Quarry. The locomotive returned as 5Z31 Meldon Quarry - Taunton and stabled behind Platform 1 for the weekend. The coach is thought to be traveling to the Mid Norfolk Railway where it will become part of the railways fleet of Mk2 coaching stock. It's amazing to think that 13 years after Virgin Trains ended loco-hauled passenger stock in the South West, that their livery still exists on passenger coaching stock in 2015.
