A pairing of EWS Class 67 locomotives No.67017 and No.67016 speed through Taunton on the 28th July 2007 operating 1Z89 16:15 Penzance to Hove charter in the last of the light at Taunton with a Past Time Rail charter.

Class 31 Locomotives Re-Fuel

Intercity liveried Class 31 No.31454 is picutred at Tithill Lane/ Dean Road on the 22nd July 2007.

The loco arrive with partner No.31452 (in top and tail formation) with five Mk2 coaches as 5Z36 12:26 Weston-super-Mare - Bishops Lydeard where the locos were refuled from a waiting road tanker before returning back to Weston.

The Cathedrals Express

The Steam Dreams 'Cathedrals Express' operated again on the 21st July 2007 with another trip starting on the West Somerset Railway.

West Coast Railways Class 37 No.37248 hauled the 1Z92 07:00 Minehead - London Victoria through to Taunton where No. 34067 'Tangmere' was added to the oposite end to allow the charter to head south to London Victoria via the southern rouge to Yeovil, Salisbury, Basingstoke, Woking, Houslow, and Clahpham Junction. The Class 37 stabled in Platform 1 at Taunton for the day.

After a break in London Victoria the charter was hauled back to Taunton by BR Large Logo Class 50 No. 50049 'Defiance' via the same route. Upon arrival at Taunton No.37248 was added to the rear of the charter to haul it back to Minehead.

The Butlins Express

Fragonset Class 31 No.31452 is pictured in Platform 2 at Taunton on the 21st July 2007 in 'top and tail' formation with No.31454.

The pair were operating 1Z35 11:10 Minehead - Bristol Temple Meads 'Butlins Express' service with Mk2 Intercity coaching stock formed of 9797 5906 5797 5866 and 6168.

Intercity liveried Class 31 No.31454 and No.31452 are pictured in 'top and tail' formation at Taunton Station on the 21st July 2007. The pair were operating the trial 'Butlins Express' service as 1Z39 14:06 Bristol Temple Meads - Minehead.

Evening Freightliner Action

Freightliner Class 66/6 No.66623 in Bardon Aggregates livery exits from Fairwater Yard with the Network Rail HOBC in tow on the 18th July 2007.

The loco is pictured leading 6Y11 20:39 Fairwater - Lavington with No.66610 also providing power from the rear of the train.

BR Large Logo Class 50 No. 50049 'Defiance' hauled Steam Dreams 'Cathedrals Express' charter on nn the 18th July 2007.

The charter had previously been operated to Minehead by Westcountry No. 34067 'Tangmere'. No. 50049 'Defiance' is pictured arriving at Taunton, and ready to depart with 1Z95 16:45 Minehead to London Victoria leg of the charter.
