1986: BR Large Logo Class 50 No. 50033 'Glorious' passes an engineering blockade at Cogload Junction on the 3rd April 1986 while working the 1C25 09:40 London Paddington - Penzance service. |

2018: With a long blast on the horn as the passed Cogload Junction former British Rail Class 50s evoke memories of the class which was once commonplace on this stretch of line. Now cared for by the Fifty Fund No. 50049 'Defiance' and No. 50007 'Hercules' storm south at Cogload on Saturday 23rd June 2018 hauling Pathfinder Railtours 'Mazey Day Cornishman' charter which operated as the 1Z50 05:40 Tame Bridge Parkway - Penzance. The locomotives also carried alternative identities of former classmates 50011 'Centurion' and 50006 'Neptune' for the trip. |

2005: Cotswold Rail liveried Class 46No.47316 leads Anglia liveried Class 47 No.47714 north through Cogload Junction returning a Heartland Rail charter to Crewe. The 1Z72 17:15 Kingswear - Crewe storms through Cogload Junction on Saturday 14th May 2005. |

2009: The First Great Western 'Night Riviera' sleeper service was in trouble again during the 5th / 6th July 2009. Having failed at Burngullow while operating the 1A40 21:15 Penzance - London Paddington the train was towed to Plymouth by a pair of FGW Powercars and was subsequently terminated. Passengers were transferred onto an HST for the rest of their journey to London. In a rare daylight outing Class 57 No. 57605 'Totnes Castle' leads No. 57602 'Restormel Castle' at Cogload Junction hauling 3Z70 15:30 Laira - Old Oak Common empty sleeper coaching stock north on Monday 6th July 2009. |

2018: First Great Western liveried HST set No.43130 leads No. 43094 'St Mawes Castle' north at Cogload Junction on 29th June 2018 operating 1A96 16:57 Plymouth - London Paddington GWR service. |

1978: BR Blue Class 47 No.47294 nears Cogload Junction on the 10th May 1978 hauling the 08:50 Exeter Riverside - Walton Junction mixed freight. |

2005: EWS livertied Class 59/2 No.59205 exits from an engineering blockade on the 27th December 2005 at Cogload Junction. The locomotive formed the 6W52 17:00 (Tue) Bridgwater - Westbury and arrived/ departed from the work site which was located between Cogload Junction and Creech St Michael. |

2014: Having delivered around 500 tonnes of ballast to the Dawlish coastline. Colas Rail Freight Class 70s returned to Westbury on Saturday 22nd March 2014. The locomotives remained in the same 'top and tail' formation, with No.70803 leading the 6Z70 09:55 Exeter St Thomas - Westbury with No.70802 on the rear of the train. 2017: Freightliner 'Powerhaul' liveried Class 66 No. 66528 'Madge Elliot MBE Borders Railway Opening 2015' 'Madge Elliot' operated the 6X04 16:10 Fairwater Yard to Ruscombe on the 15th July 2017. The track relaying train had been formed in Fairwater Yard during the early afternoon ready for its overnight work to relay track. The colourful set is seen passing Charlton (near Cogload Junction) on route north. |

1976: British Rail Class 31 No.31258 passes Cogload Junction on Saturday 14th August 1976 operating a southbound service formed of 7 Mk1 coaches. Note how clear the countryside was at this point and the local grasses along with well-kept hedgerows. |

2019: GWR Hitachi IET Class 802 No.802107 passes Cogload Junction on the 1st May 2019 operating the 1C80 11:35 London Paddington - Newquay service. |

1999: Large Logo Class 50 No. 50050 'Fearless' passes Cogload Junction on the 17th July 1999 operating Nenta Traintours the 'Star Coast to Coast Explorer' charter. The loco hauled the Anglia stock from Minehead to Felixstowe with No.47825 being attached to the train at Hatfield Peveral to allow top and tail formation along the Felixstowe branch. |

2022: BR Blue Class 50 No. 50050 'Fearless' brings back memories from 1999 on the 24th August 2022 returning with Vintage Trains charter 1Z72 17:15 Plymouth - Dorridge, with No.47773 located at the rear of the train passing Cogload Junction. |

2023: GWR 'Castle' HST set formed of No. 43198 'Driver Brian Cooper 15 June 1947 - 5 October 1999 / Driver Stan Martin 5 June 1960 - 6 November 2004' and No. 43186 'Taunton Castle' pass Cogload Junction on the 4th April 2023 while operating 2U24 12:50 Penzance - Cardiff Central. This new shot has been opened up after hedges of over eight feet tall have been reduced with winter flailing to a more manageable 3ft returning a view which hasn't been possible since the 90's. |
