Spitfire Railtours provide double-headed traction for the 'Kernow Explorer' charter on Saturday 23rd June 2012. This was the first of two tours on the day heading for the Cornish 'Mazey Day' annual event, West Coast Railways Class 37s No. 37516 'Loch Laidon', and No.37676 storm over Whiteball Summit working 1Z37 05:00 Birmingham International to Penzance.

Saturday, June 23rd 2012, saw the annual visit of charters to Penzance for the Cornish Mazeyday Celebrations. Spitfire Railtours operated their 'Kernow Explorer' charter from Birmingham International, departing at 05:00, and made excellent progress into the South West. No. 37516 'Loch Laidon' and No.37676 are seen passing Cogload Junction running nearly 20 minutes early, operating as 1Z37 05:00 Birmingham International - Penzance.
