23rd March 2015 Colas Rail Freight broke new ground with their Class 70s on the 23rd March 2015, taking No.70804 for a ballast drop on the Heathfield Branch. This was the first time the locomotive type had traversed the branch line, and it's believed to be the first ballast drop on the freight only line in nearly 20 years.
