30th August 2002 Late on the 30th August 2002, RES Class 47 No.47725 paid a brief visit to Platform 1 at Taunton. The locomotive worked a light engine from Newton Abbot to Taunton on a British Transport Police 'Tresspass and Vandal' inspection run. The locomotive was bring used as the Newton Abbot 'thunderbird' loco at the time, so the local BTP took the opportunity to use the locomotive for a local initiative.
