21st June 1995 Taken on the 21st June 1995 Class 47/7 No.47703 is pictured at Cogload working the 1E41 Plymouth - Newcastle mail while wearing Waterman Railways Black offset with feature nameplate 'Lewis Carroll'. 47703 has certainly carried some names in its time, 'Saint Mungo' 'The Queen Mother', Lewis Carroll, and 'Hermes' have all adorned this locomotive. It's currently preserved at the Wensleydale Railway after varied operations with Fragonset/ Fm Rail & Cotswold Rail. (Photo: Alan Randle)
