26th August 2017 Testing of the new IEP fleet continued across the GWR network ahead of their first booked passenger services in October. Bi-modal Class 800 No. 800004 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel / Sir Daniel Gooch' passed Taunton twice on the 26th August 2017. Having worked the 3X01 07:27 London Paddington - Exeter St Davids, the set then returned north through Taunton returning as the 3X02 10:40 Exeter St Davids - Swindon.
