15th August 2018 SR Bulleid 'West Country' Pacific No. 34046 'Braunton' arrived on the West Somerset Railway on the Wednesday 15th August 2018. The locomotive was hauled to the line by Class 47 No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ' (D1935), both locomotives being owned by Jeremy Hoskin. The 5Z34 10:40 Southall - Bishops Lydeard is pictured passing Norton Fitzwarren in the fading light. Braunton (which currently carries the number 34052 'Lord Dowding' as part of the RAF100 Celebrations) has a good association with the line as its where the locomotive was rebuild and restored to working order. It will be bolstering the WSR locomotive fleet over the coming months and is also booked to take part in the Autumn Steam Gala weekend. (Photo: Adam Hiscock)
