The Class 37 veteran locomotives were operating 'The Cornish Riviera & Mazey Day Statesman' charter, running as 1Z51 04:50 Derby - Penzance to join the Mazey Day Celebration. Locomotive Services Ltd Class 37 locomotives No.37521 and No. 37667 'Flopsie' are pictured paused in Platfom 3 at Taunton on Saturday 27th June 2026. The pair had stopped to pick up crew before continuing south with 'The Cornish Riviera & Mazey Day Statesman' charter, running as 1Z51 04:50 Derby - Penzance to join the Mazey Day Celebration.

Having completed a visit to Windsor, Eaton & Riverside on the previous day, Locomotive Services Ltd moved The Statesman stock back to Crewe on Friday 17th April 2026. Sadly, operating in a band on rain No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' leads No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ' (Dead in Train), passing Bradford on Tone. The movement operated as 5Z24 13:56 Goodrington - Crewe passing Taunton at 15:27.

Statesman Rail operated 'The Royal Windsor Statesman' charter on Thursday, 16th April 2026. No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' and No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' top and tailed the dining charter from Paington to Windsor & Eton Riverside, pausing at Taunton to pick up at 07:35. After spending a relaxing afternoon on the Windsor Estate, the charter returned south to Devon, also taking an unscheduled diversion via Swindon and Melksham due to a failed freight train near Hungerford. No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' and No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ' are pictured returning south, passing Cogload Junction, operating as 1Z22 15:04 Windsor & Eton Riverside to Taunton.

Locomotive Services Ltd Class 47 locomotives No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' and No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ' top and tailed 5Z19 08:40 Crewe - Goodrington in preparation for 'The Royal Windsor Statesman' charter, which would depart Paignton the next morning. In rather inclement conditions, No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' is pictured passing Taunton Station.

The Cornish Riviera Statesman railtour passed through the Taunton area on Thursday 23rd May 2024, with double-headed LSL (Locomotive Services Ltd) Class 47 locomotives No..47828 and No. 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer'. The dining charter 1Z68 04:12 Nantwich – Penzance is captured having just entered Devon through Whiteball Tunnel. The Statesman Charter also conveyed two Scotrail liveried Mk3 first class coaches within the consist.

The pair were operating 5Z19 08:40 Crewe - Goodrington Sidings in preparation for the next days Statesman Rail charter 'The Royal Windsor Statesman' to Windsor & Eton Riverside from Paignton. The consist also conveyed a BR Mk1 Kitchen Car on hire from Riviera Trains.

No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' and No. 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' operating the 1Z28 05:00 Shrewsbury - Penzance dining charter. The pair emerge from the damp September mist with the southbound leg at Creech St Michael.

Two LSL Class 47 locomotives No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ' and No. 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' operated 1Z25 05:25 Derby - Penzance. The charter passed Taunton on time at 09:24 with the southbound leg of the popular dining charter.

Statesman Rail operated a “Cornish Riviera Statesman” to Penzance on Saturday 5th August 2023, originating from Derby. Motive power was provided as usual in the shape of two Locomotive Services Ltd Class 47 locomotives, ScotRail liveried No. 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' and BR Green No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 '. Managing to avoid the problems earlier in the day caused by Storm Antoni, the duo were in fine form and on time as they powered towards Cogload Junction with the 1Z36 1605 Penzance to Derby.

Operating the first of four charter trains to pass through Taunton on the 24th June 2023. The Cornish Mazey Day Statesman was operated by LSL locomotives No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ' and No.47614 operating 1Z64 05:22 Solihull - Penzance. The latter locomotive was not in good health and was leaving a healthy trail of exhaust in its wake. The pair are pictured passing Cogload Junction.

LSL Class 47 locomotives No. 47593 'Galloway Princess' and No.47614 (No.47853) pass Beambridge on Friday 23rd September 2022. The pair were leading a three-day Statesman Rail charter, day one of the trip was 1Z23 06:06 York - Penzance. The charter was hauled by the pair throughout the weekend and was booked to visit Kingswear and Exeter on the Saturday before returning to York on the Sunday.
