BR Green Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' arrives into Taunton Station on Wednesday 25th September 2024 operating 1Z61 05:55 Nantwich - Plymouth 'The Golden Hind'. The Spahos Trains charter operated with No. 40013 'Andania' and No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 ' in top and tail formation, upon arrival at Taunton the Class 40 was removed and replaced by LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' for the run to Plymouth.

Saphos Trains 'English Riviera Express' charter departs from Taunton using the relief line on Saturday 10th August 2024. Having arrived into Taunton as 1Z:47 05:47 High Wycombe - Kingswear with No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' leading the train and No. 57311 'The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' in top and tail formation, the B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' was then added for the steam leg to Paignton.

Sapos Trains 'English Riviera Express' puts in a fine display climbing Whiteball Bank at dusk on the 10th August 2023. LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' (with No. 57311 'The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' attached to the rear) was returning as 1Z52 16:35 Kingswear - High Wycombe. At Taunton the steam locomotive was removed and replaced with No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' for the diesel leg.

Saphos Trains 'English Riviera Express' charter passes Creech St Michael on the 10th August 2024. No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' and No. 57311 'The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' operated in 'top and tail' formation as 1Z49 05:47 High Wycombe - Kingswear. Upon arrival at Taunton the Class 47 was removed from the front of the train, and replaced with LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' for the steam leg through to Kingswear.

Ex-LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' passes Bradford-on-Tone with the ‘English Riviera Express on Saturday 3rd August 2024. Running as the 1Z60 06:00 Wolverhampton to Kingswear the initial leg of the tour was diesel-hauled by LSL BR Green Class 47 motive power No's. 47810 and No.47805. On arrival at Taunton No.47810 was removed and replaced by the waiting B1 for the run down to Kingswear, No.47805 remaining with the tour attached to the rear of the train.

Ex-LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' runs downgrade from Whiteball Summit with the ‘English Riviera Express on Saturday 3rd August 2024. Running as the 1Z60 06:00 Wolverhampton to Kingswear the initial leg of the tour was diesel-hauled by LSL BR Green Class 47 motive power No's. 47810 and No.47805. On arrival at Taunton No.47810 was removed and replaced by the waiting B1 for the run down to Kingswear, No.47805 remaining with the tour attached to the rear of the train.

LNER A4 Pacific Class 4-6-2 No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' gets under-way from Taunton with the 1Z94 05:35 Milton Keynes to Plymouth ‘Golden Hind charter on Thursday 11th July 2024. The initial leg of the tour was worked by LSL Class 47 No. 47593 'Galloway Princess' in ‘top and tail’ configuration with classmate No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot'. The A4 replaced 47593 'Galloway Princess' at Taunton taking leading onwards to Plymouth and over the Devon Banks. The return run was hampered due to a points failure at Laira preventing the train to be turned resulting in the tour being dragged backwards by No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' as far as Taunton.

LSL Class 47s No. 47593 'Galloway Princess' and No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' operate in top and tail formation run north through Fordgate in glorious morning sunshine on Tuesday 25th June 2024. The Saphos Trains ‘Welsh Marches Express’ charter 1Z49 05:47 Paignton - Shewsbury operated via Bristol. On arrival at Bristol ex-LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' which had already positioned from the West Somerset Railway would take over the train from Temple Meads to Shrewsbury and return.

Large Logo Class 47 No. 47593 'Galloway Princess' is pictured waiting time at Taunton on the 25th June 2024, while operating Saphos Trains 'Welsh Marches Express' charter, the 1Z49 05:47 Paignton - Shrewsbury. The tour was held at Taunton a Cross Country service to pass before continuing to Bristol.

Saturday 1st June 2024 saw ex-LNER B1 4-6-0 No. 61306 'Mayflower' make its debut on this year's ‘English Riviera Express’ charter, with a working which had originated from Crewe as the 1Z27 0510 Crewe – Kingswear. Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) had handled the diesel leg from Crewe to Taunton, where the B1 took over for the run down to Kingswear. 'Mayflower' is seen having just cleared Whiteball Tunnel putting in a fine display. Class 47, No 47805 at the rear of formation throughout to provide electric train supply and assist with shunting operations as required.

LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' departs from Taunton (with some polite assistance from No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' at the rear of the train) while operating Saphos Charters 'English Rivera Express'. No. 61306 'Mayflower' took over from No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) at Taunton for the steam leg to Kingswear. No. 61306 'Mayflower' passes Silk Mills operating 1Z27 05:10 Crewe - Kingswear.

BR English Electric Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) heads back through the Taunton area during the evening of Saturday 1st June 2024 with the ‘English Rivera Express" charter. Fellow LSL (Locomotive Services Ltd) Class 47/4 No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' (D1924) is attached at the rear of the train, the top and tail configuration running as the 1Z28 Kingswear to Crewe. LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' had worked the Taunton-Kingswear-Taunton legs of the tour.

BR Green Class 40 storms north at Cogload Junction on the 1st June 2024 operating Saphos Charters 'English Rivera Express' charter. Having visited Kingswear during the day and been steam hauled back to by LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower', the Class 40 continued the 1Z28 15:29 Kingswear - Crewe. On long-term hire to LSL (Locomotive Services Ltd) Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) working in Top and Tail configuration with Class 47 No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' (D1924) pass Fordgate with the 1Z27 05:10 Crewe to Kingswear ‘English Riviera Express on Saturday 1st June 2024. On arrival at Taunton D213 was replaced with LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' for the run down to Kingswear and back.

Saphos Charters operated their English Rivieria Express charter on Saturday 1th June 2024. The traction for this charter provided the popular Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) leading and No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' on the rear of the train. Upon arrival at Taunton the Class 40 was removed and LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' added for the steam leg through to Kingswear and the Devon Air Show. Ex-SR Bullied Pacific Westcountry Class No. 34046 'Braunton' passes over Whiteball Summit on Saturday 4th May 2024 operating Saphos Trains ‘English Rivera Express’. LCL Class 37 locomotives No.37521 and No. 37667 'Flopsie' had initially been in charge of the 1Z36 04:24 Nantwich to Kingswear charter as far as Taunton from where a loco swap took place for the steam leg to final destination Kingswear and return.

Saphos Trains 'English Riviera Express' charter hauled by Southern Battle of Britain No. 34046 'Braunton' powers away from Taunton on the 4th May 2024 with Intercity No.47828 remaining on the rear. The 1Z36 04:24 Nantwich - Kingswear departed Taunton 16 minutes ahead of schedule.
