Following problems earlier in the day with No.47805 on the English Riviera Express, Locomotive Services Group dispatched No. 57003 'Inter City Railway Society 50th Anniversary 1973 - 2023' to assist with the return to Ely from Taunton. Running as the 0Z37 16:15 Southall to Norton Fitzwarren, No. 57003 'Inter City Railway Society 50th Anniversary 1973 - 2023' is captured on the Taunton side of Cogload Junction on Saturday 9th August 2026 in its striking Railfreight Distribution livery.

Locomotive Services Ltd Class 57/0 No. 57003 'Inter City Railway Society 50th Anniversary 1973 - 2023' was sent light engine as 0Z37 16:15 Southall - Norton Fitzwarren on the 8th August 2026. The loco had been sent to Taunton light engine to join the English Riviera Express charter back to Ely (possibly for fuel assistance). No. 57003 'Inter City Railway Society 50th Anniversary 1973 - 2023' is pictured at the south end of Fairwater Yard waiting to join the charter at Taunton before double-heading eastwards back to Ely.

Freightliner Class 66/9 No.66952 is pictured on Platform 3 at Taunton on Tuesday 28th July 2026. No.66952 arrived operating 0Z52 14:05 Stoke Gifford - Merehead Quarry. Due to a points failure at Bradford Junction, the driver intended to take the locomotive to Cogload Junction to reverse and head back to Westbury. However, due to a fault, the route was unavailable, so the loco was sent through to Taunton Station to change direction.

Making a rare daylight appearance in the Taunton area. GWR Class 57/6 No. 57604 'Pendennis Castle' passes light engine through Bathpool on Tuesday, 30th June 2026. The loco was operating 0Z50 11:00 Reading Traincare Depot - Exeter St Davids (later continuing south to Penzance using the same headcode). It later worked the northbound Night Riviera service from Penzance.

Class 50 No. 50049 'Defiance' arrives at Taunton from the West Somerset Railway, returning home after its extended stay on the preserved line. No. 50049 'Defiance' operating 0Z50 10:10 Bishops Lydeard - Kidderminster SVR.

On completion of a successful stint at the West Somerset Railway, Class 50 No. 50049 'Defiance' returns north to the Severn Valley Railway on Monday, 15th June 2026. Captured at Banklands, the light engine move was running as the 0V50 10:10 Bishops Lydeard to Kidderminster SVR. The loco will also attend its next preserved railway gala at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway the following weekend.

GBRf sent two locomotives from Bristol to collect the Railway 200 'Inspiration' exhibition train from Minehead on Easter Sunday, 5th April 2026. No. 66719 'Michael Portillo' (in Railway 200 livery) and No. 66310 'Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway' are pictured passing Norton Fitzwarren, having crossed over onto the WSR link operating 0Z41 09:59 Bristol East Depot - Minehead.

GBRf Class 66 locomotives No. 66718 'Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill, of Imber in the County of Wiltshire' and No. 66306 'SCS Logistics' are pictured passing Norton Firzwarren on 22nd March 2026. The pair were operating light engine as 0C39 13:24 Eastleigh - Totnes to collect the Rail200 Exhibition Train from its visit to the South Devon Railway. The movement however, was halted at Exeter Riverside Yard after a GWR Class 150 had a bogie fire (thought to have been caused by a broken bearing). The Class 150 closed the line between Newton Abbot, Tones, and Paignton while the fire brigade dealt with the incident.

British Trainsport Police liveried Class 69 No. 69016 'British Transport Police' departed back to Eastleigh on the 29th January 2026. The loco operated 0O69 11:41 Fairwater Yard - Eastleigh Yard reversing at Westbury on route, the locomotive pictured here passing through Creech St Michael.

GB Railfreight Class 69 No. 69016 'British Transport Police' returns to Taunton with the first driver training run of the day, running as the 0Z71 10:23 Fairwater Yard to Fairwater Yard via Exeter St Davids. Unfortunately, serious flooding had prevented the previous days runs from taking place. The BTP liveried locomotives was captured at Norton Fitzwarren on 28th January 2026.

West Coast Railways Class 47 No.47832 became the first locomotive to cross the Somerset Levels after lines were closed due to flooding the previous day. No.47832 (formerly operated by First Great Western and once a regular sight at Taunton) operated 0Z47 05:08 Southall - Totnes to collect a rake of hired Mk1 coaching stock from the South Devon Railway. The locomotive is pictured arriving into Taunton at 08:23.
