Having carried out a an overnight ballast drop in Cornwall, Freightliner Class 66/5 No. 66593 '3MG Mersey Multimodal Gateway' is pictured paused in Platform 4 at Taunton on the 18th February 2025. No. 66593 '3MG Mersey Multimodal Gateway' was operating 6Y40 17:35 (Mon) Westbury Yard - Westbury Yard via Penzance.

Running an hour ahead of schedule Freightliner Class 59/2 No. 59206 'John F Yeoman' rumbles across Victory Crossing working the returning 6C28 12:48 Exeter Riverside to Whatley Quarry Freightliner empty stone on Monday 17th February 2025.

In the mucky winter grimy weather Freightliner Class 66 No.66542 passes Norton Fitzwarren on the 15th February 2025. The loco was operating 6Y81 13:53 Eastleigh Yard - Feniton with a rail of empty track panel wagons for loading with track at the engineering blockade on the southern route.

9th February 2025
In murky and dull winter conditions, Freightliner operated an engineers train to Cornwall on Sunday 9th February 2025. No. 66419 'Lionesses' Roar' lead No.66531 as 6Y45 12:07 Westbury - Goodbarrow Junction in 'top and tail' formation with a rake of loaded ballast JNA wagons. With Castle Cary - Westbury closed for engineering the train operated via Bristol and also took a booked stop in Highbridge Loop. The pair are pictured passing Banklands on the approach to Cogload Junction.

3rd February 2025
Freightliner Class 66/5 No.66564 is pictured in Fairwater Yard on the 5th February 2025. The loco has arrived operating as 0F65 10:48 Whatley Quarry - Fairwater Yard where it was used to carry out wagon wheel rotation tests over a couple of days. The loco is pictured on Road 7 having moved the two D75's. It then departed light engine back to Whatley Quarry. Image taken by trained and qualified personnel.

Freightliner Class 66/5 No.66550 catches the low winter sunlight at Norton Fitzwarren on the 31st January 2025. Having been unloaded overnight in Cornwall, No.66550 and No. 66957 'Stephenson Locomotive Society 1909-2009' were operating in 'top and tail' formation returning as 6Y60 05:30 Goonbarrow Junction - Westbury engineers.

9th January 2025
Having moved a lengthy rake of Yeoman JHA wagons for storage at Exeter Riverside before Christmas, Freightliner moved the rake back north on the 10th January 2025. Freightliner Class 66 No.66572 hauled the 7M36 11:01 Exeter Riverside - Gresty Green Through Siding conveying the rake of former aggregate wagons heading for scrap.

Work stained Freightliner Class 66/6 No. 66619 'Derek W. Johnson MBE' passes Norton Fiitzwarren on the 20th December 2024. The loco was returning to Wiltshire having unloaded its Mendip Aggregate at the Exeter Riverside Virtual Quarry. The loco is pictured operating as 6C28 14:48 Exeter Riverside - Westbury.

Rounding the curve at Oath on the Somerset Levels, Freightliner Heidelberg liveried Class 59/1 No. 59101 'Village of Whatley' heads west with a lengthy rake of JHA Yeoman wagons for storage. The colourful loco was operating 7C73 11:20 Merehead Quarry - Exeter Riverside.

20th December 2024
On December 20th 2024, a rake of thirty Orenstein and Koppel built JHA hopper wagons, operated by Foster Yeoman, were moved from Merehead Quarry to Exeter Riverside Yard for storage. Class 59/1 No. 59101 'Village of Whatley' operated the move as 7C73 11:20 Merehead Quarry to Exeter Riverside, and was captured in heavy rain having just passed through Whiteball Tunnel into Devon. With the regular flow of aggregates to Exeter Riverside Yard exclusively conveyed in box wagons, the JHA wagon type is rarely seen this far west, with only a few previous visits on record.

25th November 2024
On Monday 25th November 2024, Freightliner Class 66/5 No.66596 (with No.66562 on the rear) worked 6Y44 14:47 Fairwater Yard - Westbury Yard (via Bristol Temple Meads). The train had originated from Newquay the previous day but only managed to get as far as Nailsea and Backwell where it had to change direction due to flooding at Flax Bourton. It then spent the night on the Goods Reception at Fairwater Yard and continued its journey once Flax Bourton reopened.

Heading for Engineering work on the Newquay line during the early onset of Strom Burt. Freightliner Class 66 locomotives No.66562 and No.66596 head south at Creech St Michael in the autumnal conditions. The pair operated 6Y44 10:19 Westbury - Goonbarrow Junction with a mixed engineers consist.

Freightliner Class 66/6 No. 66601 'The Hope Valley' arrived at Fairwater Yard on Wednesday 13th November 2024. The loco operated as 0C17 08:26 Westbury Yard - Fairwater Yard. The next day it carried out brake tests and wheel rotation tests on wagons stored within Fairwater Yard. On a beautiful autumn day the loco is pictured at Fairwater Yard on the 13th. Freightliner Class 59/2 No.59201 brings a splash of colour to the doom and gloom of Tuesday 5th November 2024. The colourful locomotive was captured passing Nynehead with the 6C28 12:48 Exeter Riverside Hanson to Whatley Quarry aggregate empties.

Freightliner Powerhaul liveried (and former DRS Class 66) No. 66418 'PATRIOT In Memory of Fallen Railway Employees' passes slowly through Platform 2 at Taunton Station on the 29th October 2024. The loco was operating 6F05 09:14 Westbury - Bristol East Junction via Fairwater Yard (where the train changed direction to head back to Bristol). Upon arrival at Bristol East Junction the loco then entered the engineering blockade between Bristol and Bath Spa.
