16th September 2023
UK Railtours operated 'The Skipping Devonian' charter on the 16th September 2023 with DB Cargo providing two Royal locomotives for the trip. No.67005 and No.67007 operated in top and tail formation hauling the charter as 1Z66 06:00 Peterborough - Paignton. With No.67005 leading the charter passes Creech St Michael brining the a Class of locomotive which was once commonplace back to the south west. No.67005 last visited Taunton on in December 2021.

DB Cargo Class 66 No.66182 passes Norton Fitzwarren on the 16th September 2023 operating 6X02 16:37 Westbury - Bodmin Parkway engineers. The train was formed of 6 wagons (3 empty, 3 loaded) and Railvac2.

As the annual Rail Head Treatment Train season approaches, DB Cargo Class 66 No.66012 and RHTT vehicles FEA 642031 & 642035 pass over Whiteball on Wednesday 16th August 2023 running as the 3Z90 12:43 Westbury to Exeter Riverside Yard. The loco later returned light engine to Westbury while the RHTT wagons were conveyed further west to St Blazey by classmate No.66190 later in the day.

DB Cargo Class 66 No.66023 waggles its way up Whiteball Bank on Saturday 29th July 2023. The loco was returning north while operating 0Z14 10:30 Westbury - Westbury via Par route-leaner. The loco was running 52 minutes ahead of schedule.

DB Cargo operated a light engine route learning trip on Saturday 29th July 2023. No.66023 operated 0Z14 10:30 Westbury - Westbury via Par. The loco is pictured passing Bullplace Farm, Stoke St Gregory, it was sporting its new Kings Coronation livery which was outshopped in June 2023.

The DB Cargo loaded China Clay service made a rare daylight appearance on Coronation Bank Holiday Monday 8th May 2023. Class 66 No.66131 passes Norton Fitzwarren in the pouring rain while operating 6M60 15:57 Exeter Riverside - Bescot with eight loaded China Clay JIA wagons in tow.

Still carrying its original EWS branding, DB Cargo Class 65 No.66030 passes over Whiteball on Friday 30th December 2022 working 6V08 10:18 Margam - Exeter Riverside. An unusual working for this area of nine mixed intermodal FCA, FYA & FIA container flats being moved by DB Cargo for storage at Exeter.

DB Cargo moved a rake of intermodal container flats from Margam Yard to Exeter Riverside for storage on the 30th December 2022. The EWS-liveried Class 66 No.66030 operated the movement as 6V08 10:18 Margam - Exeter Riverside.| The train consisted of nine wagons formed of a mixture of FCA, FYA and FIA wagon types. The train was also delayed in the Pilning area due to flooding in Patchway Tunnel, it finally passed Taunton 42 minutes late. Once at Exeter Riverside the locomotive returned light engine to Margam.

On a cold and frosty winters day EWS Class 66 No. 66079 'James Nightall G.C.' passes Creech St Michael on the 11th December 2022. The loco was operating 6W98 08:25 Totnes - Westbury with No.66028 (out of sight at the rear of the train). The appearance of No.66028 was especially rare as the loco has spent many years operating for Euro Cargo Rail in France, and last visited Taunton in 2005.

DB Cargo Class 66 locomotives No.66129 and No.66105 at work with the Network Rail RHTT set at Whiteball on Tuesday 22nd November 2022. Entering Devon from the west portal of Whiteball Tunnel the pair were operating as 3J13 08:46 Westbury to St Blazey via Salisbury.

Operating a rare daylight appearance for the southbound China Clay empties. DB Cargo Class 66 No.66009 hauls with 18 empty JIA China Clay bogie covered hoppers westbound over the summit at Whiteball on Tuesday 22nd November 2022. An unusual daylight run operated as 6V99 07:38 Bescot Down Side to Exeter Riverside, continuing further west from Exeter later in the day into Cornwall.

The recent loco-swap on the southwestern circuit RHTT (Rail Head Treatment Train) has seen No.66105 taking the place of 069 as captured here on Thursday 10th November 2022 when passing Wick on the Somerset Levels. No.66129 leads No.66105 west while operating 3J13 08:46 Westbury to St Blazey via Salisbury.

Passing Cogload Junction on Wednesday 9th November 2022. EWS Class 66 No.66129 leads classmate No.66105 (having been recently swapped from 069) while operating 3J13 08:46 Westbury - St Blazey via Salisbury RHTT. Passing in the opposite direction GWR Hitachi IET No.802105 heads for London operating 1A80 08:15 Penzance - London Paddington.

A new addition to the 2022 RHTT set (although equally as grubby) is DB Red No.66105 which has replaced its counterpart 069. On the 9th November 2022 No.66129 leads No.66105 away from the camera at Cogload Junction while operating 3J13 08:46 Westbury - St Blazey via Salisbury RHTT.

6th November 2022
DB Cargo operated a revised RHTT schedule on Sunday 6th November 2022. Owing to various crewing and operational issued surrounding the recent strike action then normal trip to Salisbury on a Saturday did not operate (instead the Swindon RHTT set formed of Colas Class 56 locomotives, did operate to Exeter overnight). Sunday 6th November 2022 provided the rare opportunity to capture the north end DB Cargo cherry red locomotive leading the RHTT set. The normal northbound RHTT duty normally passing Taunton under the cover of darkness. Class 66 No.66069 leading No.66129 pass Norton Fitzwarren while operating 3J12 10:15 St Blazey - Westbury via Crediton.
