GBRf Class 57/3 locomotives No.57303 and No.57305 pass Creech St Michael on Saturday 4th October 2025 operating 3S13 08:46 Westbury - Fairwater Yard. The Rail Head Treatment Train was operating during storm Amy bringing high winds and squawly showers through the South West.

GBRf Class 57/3 No.57303 and No. 57310 'UK Railtours' are picutred in Fairwater Yard on the the 24th September 2025. Having carried out a test run to Penzance the previous day the locomotives had already been covered in lineside grime. Photo taken in by qualified personel.

GBRf delivered locomotives with an entritly new look for the 2025 Rail Head Treatment Train season on Monday 22nd September 2025. For as long as the RHTT contract has been operating in the southwest it has been operated by EWS/DB Schenker/ DB Cargo using Class 66 locomotives. The 2025 season will see GBRf taking the reigns with the set outbased from Fairwater Yard. No.57305 No.57303 lead No. 57310 'UK Railtours' south through Creech St Michael operating 6Z58 09:16 Eastleigh Yard - Taunton Loco Sidings with RHTT wagons 642031 and 642035 sandwiched between. The set will soon operate daily from Fairwater Yard departing at 18:20 each evening. This image was captured on a camera pole.

For a second day in a row GWR Class 57/6 No. 57602 'Restormel Castle' passes through Taunton Station with the empty coaching stock from the Night Riviera sleeper service. With no driver availible at Penzance the night before, the overnight Penzance - London Paddington sleeper was operated with a GWR IET set (802105). Having found a driver later in the morning No. 57602 'Restormel Castle' operated 5Z50 07:30 Penzance - Reading Traincare Depot in preperation for the next nights service.

GWR Class 57/6 No. 57602 'Restormel Castle' makes a rare daylight appearance on Tuesday 2nd September 2025 with the GWR 'Night Riviera' sleeper set (PZ89). The Night Riviera had been operated by a nine-car IET (800312) the night before and the Class 57 was positioning the set for the next nights service from Penzance, pictured passing through Platform 3 at Taunton operating as 5Z50 11:30 Reading Traincare Depot - Penzance.

The luxury dining train operated as 1Z60 08:19 Birmingham International to Paignton on Tuesday 19th August 2025.

GWR locomotives returned to their home depot on the 5th August 2025 from the Railway 200 Greatest Gathering event at Derby the previous weekend. Having recently completed a G Exam the locomotive had visited Arlington Fleet Services paint shop at Eastleigh Works a couple of weeks previous to the big event for a complete repaint, retaining its GWR Brunswick Green livery to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the Great Western Railway. No. 57604 'Pendennis Castle' leads GWR HST powercars No. 43004 'Caerphilly Castle' and No. 43198 'Driver Brian Cooper 15 June 1947 - 5 October 1999 / Driver Stan Martin 5 June 1960 - 6 November 2004' on the bar with the movement operated by Europhoenix Rail (EPR) on behalf of GWR as 0Z03 09:27 Derby Litchurch Lane - Laira.

GWR Class 57/6 No. 57603 'Tintagel Castle' passes Norton Fitzwarren on Friday 4th July 2025 operating 3Z50 10:00 Penzance - Reading Traincare Depot. Following the failure of No. 57602 'Restormel Castle' the previous night and cancellation of the London bound Night Riviera service, No. 57603 'Tintagel Castle' was transferred to Cornwall on the back of the southbound service. The empty coaching stock move also ran into trouble with dragging brakes on the set (smoke visible in this image). The movement was stopped for attention before continuing to Reading.

Former Direct Rail Services, leased by GBRf to GWR to cover standby duties on the GWR Night Riviera Sleeper services appeared at Taunton during the early hours of the 2nd July 2025. No.57301 hauled 1C50 23:45 London Paddington - Penzance 'Night Riviera' service throughout and is pictured at Taunton during its booked stop at 02:40.

A very rare early morning treat for those who were struggling to sleep with the hot weather was a rare daylight appearance of the GWR 'Night Riviera' service. Sadly the train had failed the previous night and required a tow back to Reading in order to position the set for the next nights service. Recently returned to traffic after a major overhaul No. 57604 'Pendennis Castle' provides a tow for failed No. 57602 'Restormel Castle' passing Oath Farm operating as 5Z50 05:00 Plymouth - Reading Traincare Depot. Having arrived the previous night from London Victoria on a mock test run for the forthcoming Britannic Explorer charters. No. 57310 'UK Railtours' and No. 66751 'Inspiration Delivered Hitachi Rail Europe' provided an incredibly rare sight of locomotives and coaching stock stabled on the Fairwater Yard northern head shunt. This line is normally used by Freightliner to shunt wagons within Fairwater Yard, the sight of a full train stabled next to the main NIDR link road was incredibly rare. No. 57310 'UK Railtours' and No. 66751 'Inspiration Delivered Hitachi Rail Europe' are pictured on Saturday 7th June 2025 before departing as 5Z21 09:17 Fairwater Yard - Penzance following Saphos Trains 'English Riviera Express' charter.

GB Railfreight operated a 'mock' Britannic Explorer charter test run on the 6th June 2025 in preparation for the real Pullman service to start operating at the end of June. No. 57310 'UK Railtours' and No. 66751 'Inspiration Delivered Hitachi Rail Europe' top and tailed a mixed rake of coaches from Eastern Rail Services to replicate timings for The Britannic Explorer. The pair are pictured passing Colgoad Junction operating 5Z20 15:48 London Victoria - Fairwater Yard running 22 minutes late. At Fairwater the train stabled for the night before continuing to Cornwall the next day.

On hire from Locomotive Services Ltd based at Crewe, Class 57/3 No.57311 'The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' is pictured at Taunton during the early hours on the 8th March 2025. The loco has been hired to GWR to bolster their Class 57 fleet and operated 1C50 23:45 London Paddington - Penzance 'Night Riviera' service, operating in 'top and tail' formation with GWR Class 57/6 No. 57603 'Tintagel Castle'.

The loco was operating 1C50 23:45 London Paddington - Penzance. In the adjacent platform No. 37901 'Mirrlees Pioneer' and No.37423 wait with Coradia Unit No.175005 while operating 7Q84 11:03 (Thur) Ely Papworth Sidings - Laira delivering another Class 175 to GWR.
