12th July 2025 Hauling the English Riviera Express LSL Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' slowly approaches Norton Fitzwarrern on Sunday 13th July 2025. The loco was returning the 1Z30 16:35 Kingswear - Three Bridges charter in top and tail formation with No. 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013 '. Upon arrival into Fairwater Yard the Class 40 was removed and then operated light engine back to Crewe, and Class 57 No. 57311 'The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' was added to return the charter to Three Bridges. The loco moved from Crewe as 0Z40 12:12 Crewe - Taunton and would substitute for the booked steam locomotive because of the ongoing heatwave. 1st June 2024 BR English Electric Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) heads back through the Taunton area during the evening of Saturday 1st June 2024 with the ‘English Rivera Express" charter. Fellow LSL (Locomotive Services Ltd) Class 47/4 No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' (D1924) is attached at the rear of the train, the top and tail configuration running as the 1Z28 Kingswear to Crewe. 1st June 2024 Saphos Charters operated their English Rivieria Express charter on Saturday 1th June 2024. The traction for this charter provided the popular Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) leading and No. 47810 'Crewe Diesel Depot' on the rear of the train. Upon arrival at Taunton the Class 40 was removed and LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' added for the steam leg through to Kingswear and the Devon Air Show. 5th August 2023 After a squally say of wind and rain from Storm Antoni the clouds cleared just in time for the return 'English Riviera Express' charter on the 7th August 2023. Having arrived at Taunton behind LNEA A4 Pacific No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley', the immaculate LSL Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) took over for the return diesel leg at Taunton. 5th August 2023 Resplendent Class 40 No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) operated by Locomotive Services Limited is pictured stabled on the former Taunton (83B) depot sidings on the 5th August 2023. The loco entered service in June 1976 and amazingly remained in service until 1988. The loco is now in the care of LSL an is based at Crewe for charter work. With several LSL charters out using Class 47 locomotives the Class 40 stood in to make up the numbers. No. 40013 'Andania' is pictured passing Creech St Michael operating 1Z27 05:16 Northampton - Kingswear. Intercity Tours operated 'The Devonian Double' using Class 40 locomotives No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) and No.40145 (D345) to haul 1Z40 006:25 Preston - Plymouth. 30th October 2021 LSL 'Intercity Excursions' saw the pairing of two Class 40s for 'The Devonian Double' charter to the west country on Saturday 30th October 2021. Having been severely delayed by flood water at Flax Bourton, No. 40013 'Andania' (D213) and No.40145 (D345) complete with a freshly painted rake of Mk3 coaches into INTERCITY livery and with No.47828 attached at the rear finally passes over Whiteball with the 1Z40 06:25 Preston to Plymouth.
