Anson, Swiftsure, Benbow and Warspite Depart

Four further Class 50 locomotives were moved north from the Laira scrap line on the last day of 30th March 1989.

No. 50022 'Anson', No. 50047 'Swiftsure', No. 50012 'Benbow' and No. 50014 'Warspite' are pictured stabled on the reception lines of Fairwater Yard on the 1st April 1989. They arrived on the 30th March (with an unknown locomotive providing a tow, with a Mk3 sleeper coach 10603 in the consist). The four locomotive then stayed over the Easter Weekend before they were towed forward by classmate No. 50004 'St Vincent' at 10:40 on the 5th April 1989.
