Once the majority of passenger services have dwindled in the evenings, it is the turn of Parcels and Mail traffic to take over for the night shift.
These services can be hauled by all manner of locomotives, as many do not require a train supply. As crew walk towards the cab of Railfrieght Class 47 No.47014 in Platform 2 on the 26th November 1986. The time on the clock reading around 18:20, parcels can be seen stacked on waiting mail trollies to be loaded onto the adjacent train for transportation.
