Prairie Tank to Minehead

British Railways 2-6-2 Large Prairie No.4103 arrives at Minehead, passing the Butlins Water Tanks on 9th September 1962.

The locomotive was operating the 15:10 Taunton - Minehead branchline service with four coaches in tow.

Mogul at Taunton

2-6-0 Mogul No.7337 (based at Taunton Shed 83B) stands at Taunton on the 8th September 1962 having probably arrived with a passenger working from the Barnstaple line, it's possibly a portion for a Wolverhampton bound service.

This rare colour 35mm slide shows a wonderful scene at Taunton as the locomotive pauses in the platform.
