5th July 1992
In July 1992 the West Somerset Railway held a cavalcade to celebrate the Taunton 150th. Modern Traction was represented by a Class 150 No.150272 along with Class 50's No. 50007 'Hercules' & No. 50050 'Fearless' and Class 47 No.47835. On the 5th July 1992 No.47835 leads No. 50007 'Hercules' and No. 50050 'Fearless' under the B3227 road bridge at Norton Fitzwarren returning the locomotives to Bristol Bath Road.

British Rail Intercity Class 47 No.47615 arrives into Taunton on an unknown date and service in 1989. This early version of the Intercity livery was superseded by several other versions before the Intercity Swallow livery was adopted for the fleet.

In 1989 the transition change from BR Blue and Grey to the first version of Intercity livery was still in full flow, here a cross country service (probably from Plymouth) is seen heading north at Cogload Junction. 253009 was formed of powercars 43019 and 43018.

This superb image shows a summer service at Taunton in 1989. Intercity liveried Class 47 No.47609 'Fire Fly' arrives into Taunton with passengers ready for their holiday travels. A classic 1980's scene, although the young lad in the sombrero is probably a little over optimistic on his destination and the weather!
